Bienvenido and welcome to Red Poppy. A place for poetry. A flower planted during the hour of the garden . A family which hopes to create progressive sustainable social change in Latin America and the world through art. We are rooted in la tierra of Latin America from the silver stones of Macchu Picchu to the high deserts of Mexico, from the soul of Cuba to the blue snow-capped volcanoes and ancient forests of Southern Chile. Red Poppy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to furthering Pablo Neruda's commitment to humanitarianism and spreading his poetry around the globe.

Making a difference in this world, one poem at a time.

This poppy has four petals. The first is documentary film. The second petal holds our direct actions, projects through which we hope to create positive change not only in Latin America, but all over the world. We are currently working on aiding a school in Nicaragua. In the past, we have collaborated with and supported the Red Poppy Art House in San Francisco, providing culture to all, and art workshops to children. We are now in the early stages of a fair trade organic agricultural project in the sacred Valle del Elqui in Chile, where farmers are subjected to high amounts of dangerous chemicals. We are also starting a biodiesel project there. The third will hold our on-line journal and book projects. We are currently working on a children's book of Neruda's poetry as well as an anthology of Chilean poetry written during and after the dictatorship. The fourth is a petal for Pablo.
